Our Partners

All of the organizations we support were founded and are managed by individuals from the local community who know through experience the difficulties faced by children in poverty. As a general rule, we support grassroots initiatives that are unlikely to receive support from large South African institutional or international donors. Because of our deep relationship with our partner organizations, we provide funding that they would not receive otherwise.

Angels Care Centre

Angels Care Centre is a Non-Profit Organization registered in 2002 to address the social needs of vulnerable children from informal settlements in the Umngeni municipal area (primarily Shiyazali). The Centre houses and runs:

  • A crisis center for child victims of gender based violence
  • A weekly feeding program for 300 children
  • An Early Childhood Development Centre (pre-school)
  • A bridging class for children who are severely neglected and have never been to school
  • An aftercare/homework assistance program

Thembelihle Primary School

Thembelihle Primary School is an independent school that provides quality education to young children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The school has grown from 17 learners their first year to 300 children from grade RRR – Grade7. Most of the children come from informal settlements in Howick such as Shiyabazali. The people from these communities are largely unemployed and have moved there from more rural areas in search of employment. They have no running water, electricity or sewage. Many of the children are orphans whose parents are victims of AIDS and they now live with grandparents or even reside in child-headed households.
